The workshop is centred on extragalactic radio astronomy, with talks designed to place current research in a wider scientific and methodological context. It is intended for participants based in Poland, from Bachelor’s students through PhD students and postdocs to research staff, with priority given to students and early career researchers where participation is limited.
The programme will combine current research with broader overview and methodology talks, covering radio surveys, radio AGN, galaxy clusters and diffuse radio emission, magnetic fields, polarimetry, data analysis, and emerging opportunities with modern radio facilities.
A central aim is to broaden awareness of the role radio data can play across astrophysics, particularly among researchers who do not primarily identify as radio astronomers. Several talks will therefore have a more pedagogical and introductory character, placing current results in a wider scientific context and explaining the key questions, observational approaches and methods behind them. The workshop will also provide time for discussion, exchange of expertise and the development of new collaborative projects.
The workshop is being organised within the framework of NCBJ’s Strategic Partnership programme with Leiden University, alongside a visit by radio astronomers from Leiden Observatory.
The scope is deliberately broad, connecting different areas of astronomy while keeping radio observations and their scientific use at the centre, and encouraging exchange across different research communities and areas of expertise.

Jets, lobes, source evolution, restarted activity, compact sources and their environments.
Radio emission from galaxies, star formation and the connection between radio and multi wavelength studies.
Polarimetry, Faraday effects, magnetic field inference and related diagnostics.
Imaging, calibration, high resolution work and practical approaches to extracting physical information from radio data.
Emerging science with LOFAR 2.0, ngVLA and the SKA, and the new opportunities they will create for collaboration and discovery.
